Frequently Asked Questions
How many words can a translator translate in one day, on average?
This depends on the difficulty of the text and on the type of file, but about 2,500 words per day on average.
I've got a big volume to be translated in a very short time.
We don't have a problem with this, we can set up a team of translators who specialize in the field concerned. They will be supervised by a Project Manager, who is responsible for creating a glossary of recurrent terms so that the terminology can be harmonised. The translators will work closely with each other and with the Project Manager in order to provide you with the best possible translation.
Can an French translator who knows English translate a document from French to English?
We've heard that there are some unscrupulous agencies who give work to translators whose native language is other than the target language, but we have never done that and we will never do that. Although a translator may understand and speak a foreign language practically perfectly, he or she will never be able to master all the nuances of that foreign language, and native-speakers would be able to see this in the translation.
Can I be sure that the next documents will be translated by the same translator?
We will use the same translator to make sure that the vocabulary used is the same as that in the previous translation.
I've got some strictly confidential documents to be translated. What can you do about that?
All our translators are careful to observe professional secrecy. For additional security, we can have this confirmed in a document duly signed between your company and Technical Translation. The same contract will be signed with our translator or translators who is/are responsible for the translation of your text.
